I was uneasy purchasing these due to all of the mixed reviews but since I really wanted a pair for my flat top griddle I figured why not. I first used these to make perfect sized pancakes & it worked like a charm. I did grease the sides just a little bit. When the pancakes started to separate I lifted the rings off. My first try the pancake was done fully half way done & the batter leaked from the side but once you know what you are looking for it is easy. I made used eggs in over the weekend. This is were the bottom part comes into play. These are not leak proof ! You will not find leak proof rings I believe, if you do please show me. With a much thinner consistency compared to pancake batter they leak out of the ring just a tiny bit. Nothing world ending ! They pulled off perfectly fine (grease the insides just a little bit).
