This is now one of my favourite gadgets and I wished I had bought them years ago. I have been using the mini pie tins for over 30 years and every time I used them getting the pastry to fit neatly was not easy and sometimes the pastry wasn't fitted fully, although years ago there were was something you could use for normal sized tins but I never saw one that would fit the mini tins so when I saw these I bought them and they are a game changer, the time saved in fitting the pastry is amazing so making mini pies or quiches will be done in no time at all. The way I use them is to cut the pastry then place it over a hole and use the plunger to fit the pastry neatly in place, you do not need a lot of pressure and they do not stick to the pastry so are so easy to use. They feel well made but this is the first year I have used them but they do look like they will last, they are easy to clean and I make sure they are fully dry before I put them away, I place them on the induction hob so the warmth from the oven helps to dry them completely.I personally feel these are great value fir money and if do a lot of catering they save you so much time they more than pay for themselves. So if like me you enjoy making mini pies and quiches I would highly recommend getting these, the reason I bought the 2 pack was so I could give one to my daughter in law, I am also going to buy her a mini pie tin as well, without this plunger she would never make mini pies as she does not have the patience but now she will have no problems making mini pies and quiches
