Do not place near a heat source that is over 80 degrees F. Do not keep the Mantis Egg under 65 degrees F. Ideally the temperature should be between 75- and 80-degrees F. Things to keep in mind when hatching your egg case: If the egg dries out it will not hatch. If it is placed in direct sunlight and gets too hot it will not hatch. If it is kept too wet, it will not hatch. Some have put the egg case in a freezer thinking this would be the best way to store them until they hatch; that will destroy the mantis nymphs.
