My mom came from England and we grew up eating eggs in an egg cup, and this little tool is the best thing ever for topping the egg in an egg cup without burning your fingers or taking a knife and cutting around the top my mother if she was still alive would love it, best design ever.Liked the idea after watching some ads. Even though don't use it very often. For me it happened to be not very practical.Works great on large eggs if they are not too round. Purchased to use to separate eggs as I only like the yolk. This way I do not break them hitting with a spatula. Hard boiled are a bit harder. Were warm so cooled might work better on the hard boiled. Fun to use and pleased with purchase.It took me a few tries to get it to work but I finally got the hang of it.It takes more than one plunge with this tool to open the soft cooked eggs I enjoy, but it is easier than using a sharp knife to do the job.Review of the egg toper:This is the first one I have ever bought. I like it better than using the edge of a knife. I have yet to get it to fully crack through the shell in one attempt. That may speak more to the eggs we use (thick shells) rather than the ability of the tool. The quality seems very good.Review of the spoons:My family had only used regular spoons to eat soft boiled eggs. These work much better. They fit into the shell better and their small size makes it easier to scoop out all of the egg. Their quality seems top notch. I highly recommend them. They appear to be just like other good quality silverware. We have only hand washed them, but that is more or of fear of losing them down the drain, or elsewhere.I like that just a couple of whacks to the top of the egg, it cracks evenly around and “the topper” also removes the top part of the shell for me. I wish I had this earlier when our chickens were in season! ?I use this at least 3 times a week, and I can now quickly de-shell 4 eggs without any issues whatsoever. The price is a great deal!
